Although I have caught adult browns at 24" on a redworm, and sunfish down to 72" so be ready for anything and don't be afraid to experiment.ĭuring the middle of the day, the trout seem to move to deeper water and lures work much better. Fish can be found from 18 inches down to max depth depending on spot, species, and time of day.Īs a general rule, panfish are 18-30", bass are 24-60", and trout are 36-72". The depth for each spot can vary quite a bit. If your bobber is more than 5 ft from the shore or a protruding rock or weed bed, chances are the water is too deep there for float fishing. Focus on the areas along the shoreline and around the edges of weed beds. I find the pegs from the bridge all the way around to the waterfall are the most productive for bait fishing. Tea bagging the same hole over and over will net fewer fish, and prevent you from learning the water. Once you've worked all the available shoreline from a certain peg, move to the next peg and start over. Once you've caught 1-2 fish in one little nook, cast somewhere else. Some of these little crannies hold every species in the lake. Nearly every nook and cranny along the shoreline holds at least one species of fish during those hours. I usually float fish exclusively from 5-7 am and 7-9 pm, and often get 50 lbs or more of fish that way. I Get way more fish with Just float fishingĪre there Some nice tips(guides)for floatfishing in oregon? To get the biggie's?įloating around the edges is a great way to help fill the net in Oregon. But it's nice for a change.Īnother thing I like to go for from time to time are the dolly vardens & sockeye (also bull trout) on a partly cloudy day in alaska.Somehow i Just not good in spin/lure/crank fishing. Plus, the catfish stuff is even more boring than the sturgeon in cali. As it will take you longer, and won't be as friendly with the time-skipping. On a partly cloudy day, you can also concentrate on the pike from 10-16, and throw some heavier rods out to the regular muskies from 10-11 am and 12-13.Īll in all, day-time fishing in Michigan is not nearly as reliable as the sturgeon in cali. However, if you don't see a sunny day around, best thing to get your net full quickly would be to skip to the night, and go for blue catfish and lake sturgeon at the dock. And the pike have great cash value, as you already know. pack a Fenix for the pike, as they're fun with that rod, Brutus for the clear & regular muskies, bottom sniper, and maybe a catboxer / heavy chaser - whichever is available to you at that level). Most of the time, your net will be close to full by 9 o'clock if you use a rod-pod and 3 to 4 rods (e.g. 5-6 clear muskie, 6-7 regular muskie, 7-8 i usually go for the pike, 8-9 you can go for the tiger muskie. So if you're in for a change, you can always go for a sunny day in Michigan. However, farming sturgeon in Cali will get boring after a while. There are fish with better XP and cash value in the game, but it takes a lot longer to fill your net with those. From then on, you can just go on for hours and hours, and fill your net in 2 in-game hours max. It costs you 1 baitcoin to get to the second night, and skip the cooldown timer once. Plus, you can get heavier bottom than match rods, and get the fish out of the water a little quicker.Īll things considered, sturgeon in Cali is indeed the best money & xp farm. I'd also recommend using a bottom rod nowadays, as I get the impression that they bite a little quicker on that. You'll find some more if you search for "sturgeon california" on youtube.
